Coventry welcomes Dogma
Restaurant and bar operator, Ever So Sensible Bars (ESSB), has secured a site in Coventry for its Dogma concept.
ESSB has signed a deal with Complex Development Projects (CDP) for an 8,500sq ft area at Priory Place, the new eating and drinking piazza in the city centre.
Dogma Coventry will be the third and largest Dogma venue so far. The two other sites are in Nottingham and Lincoln.
The two-storey venue will include a restaurant and lounge bar on the upper level, with a bar and dance floor below.
The 35,000sq ft Priory Place site forms a part of the city centre renewal project, the Phoenix initiative, which has seen around £65m of investment by Coventry City Council, the Millennium Commission and CDP.
Josh Leon, of property adviser, Davis Coffer Lyons, which acted on behalf of CDP on the deal, said: “Coventry historically has had some stigma attached to it, but now operators see that the customers are there with money to spend and a lack of places in which to spend it.
“We can now pick and choose which brands we want for the Priory Place scheme and Dogma was an obvious choice.”
Dogma Coventry will be ESSB’s fifth property – it also runs the Muse in Sheffield and the Castle in Nottingham. Details: www.eversosensible.com
