Creative Scotland announces funding recipients
A total of 27 creative entrepreneurs from across Scotland will share this year's £150,000 Starter for 6 funding.
Run by Cultural Enterprise Office (CEO) The Starter for 6 scheme was launched in 2007 to help take products and ideas to market, and this year's recipients of the funding range from software developers to architecture, fashion, graphic and product design companies.
Among this year's beneficiaries of the grant was designer Scott Jarvie who was commissioned to develop designs for KiosKiosK part of the Design Museum's (London) Super Contemporary exhibition last year.
Bob Last, chair of CEO, said: "Entrepreneurialism is the key to economic prosperity.
"The creative industries currently make a multi-million pound contribution to the Scottish economy.
"We are delivering the specialist business support to the current and emerging generation of creative entrepreneurs to help them make a full contribution to the development of a stronger, more vibrant Scotland."
