Crystal Palace receives further £1m
Crystal Palace National Sports Centre is to receive over £1m in funding from Sport England, the London Development Agency, the London Borough of Bromley and operator, Greenwich Leisure (GLL).
The funding will be spent on maintenance at the sports centre, including the resurfacing of tennis courts and indoor five-a-side area, the improvement of disability access and the instalment of a new fitness suite.
The investment follows £1.5m which was made available last year for the athletics stadium to carry out essential repair work to save the London Grand Prix.
Chief executive of Sport England, Roger Draper said: “Crystal Palace opens its doors to thousands each year. The improvements will ensure it can continue to provide a valued service.”
Mark Sesnan, managing director of GLL added, “The funding demonstrates all key stakeholders’ commitment to the centre and will enable us to make significant improvements to the service.”
