Darlington embarks on park regeneration scheme
Darlington council is set to spend £3m on improving its parks, play areas and open spaces.
The initiative will completely revamp Denes and North Park, upgrade Sugar Hill Park in Cockerton and improve Eastbourne Park and open spaces in the Lascelles area.
New and improved play facilities for children will be established at Fryers Crescent, St Michael’s Crescent, Auckland Oval and Headingley Crescent in Red Hall.
In addition, a new off-road cycle track will be installed at West Park in Faverdale.
Council leader John Williams said: “We are fully committed to improving parks and play areas across the borough with this raft of projects.
“We are focused on enhancing the quality of life for young people and the parks and play areas investment programme is an exciting part of that work.” Details: www.darlington.gov.uk
