ECB secures Clydesdale Bank sponsorship
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that Clydesdale Bank has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal for a new domestic 40-over competition launching this summer.
Scotland, the Netherlands and an ECB Recreational XI team are set to take part along with the 18 first-class counties in the Clydesdale Bank 40, which forms part of a newly-restructured, three-competition domestic season. ECB commercial director John Perera said: "We will be working closely with Clydesdale Bank over the next three years to ensure it establishes itself as a key part of the summer sporting calendar and is an opportunity for families to enjoy watching high quality cricket together."
The new competition will see the 21 teams divided into three groups. Group winners, along with the best-placed runner-up, will qualify for the semi-finals and the final will be held at Lord's in London on 18 September.
