East Midlands Tourism awards
The third East Midlands Tourism Enjoy England Excellence Awards gave its first ever Outstanding Contribution to Tourism prize to the East Midlands Food and Drink Festival.
The festival, held in Melton Mowbray, doubled year on year visitor numbers, attracted new tourists to the region and helped to regenerate the town.
The ceremony was held at the Goosedale conference centre in Nottingham and saw more than 40 shortlisted organisations from across the region up for various awards.
Richard Dickinson, chief executive of East Midlands Tourism, said: “These awards celebrate and reward those organisations that consistently deliver great service and quality for all visitors who enjoy the many attractions we have to offer.”
Other winners included the Kilworth House Hotel in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, which picked up gold awards for Small Hotel and Tourism Website.
The winners will now progress through to next year’s national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence. Details: www.enjoyenglandseastmidlands.com
