East Midlands launches coaching development programme
A new programme has been launched in the East Midlands to develop local coaches’ skills, enabling them to deliver more effectively at an elite level.
27 coaches from 14 sports have been selected by their National Governing Bodies (NGBs) to participate in the East Midlands Performance Coach Programme.
The programme will offer three packages to the coaches, each having been tailored to the needs of the individual.
Selected coaches will have the opportunity to draw up a personal development plan and will benefit from regular meetings with their NGB contacts and a development officer employed by sports coach UK (scUK) – which is coordinating the scheme.
They will also have access to facilities and services provided by other partners, including Loughborough Sport and the English Institute of Sport.
The programme is being funded by Sport England, at a cost of £90,000 over three years.
