Edinburgh Leisure keep job seekers healthy
Sports trust Edinburgh Leisure is aiming to boost the health and fitness of the city's job seekers with a new programme, launched in partnership with Work Directions UK.
Under the initiative, Work Directions customers will be given access to Edinburgh Leisure gyms, pools and fitness classes with a concession leisure card.
The scheme helps people who have been out of work to get active, build their confidence and self esteem and get back in the job market.
Community inclusion officer Tommy George, who is overseeing the project, said: "If it's true to say that the healthier we are, the better we feel, it's probably also true to say that the better we feel, the easier it is to find a job. And what better way to feel good about ourselves than by adding a bit of physical activity into our daily routine?"
