Educating spa therapists in Singapore
“To develop high standards of education for the spa and beauty industry in Singapore.” That’s the intention of Maggie Gunning, Managing Director of Spa Synergy, having recently joined forces with the Tourism Management Institute of Singapore to create a management course for spa therapists.
The Essential Spa & Salon Management Course will begin on 3 November and takes place at the Tourism Management Institute of Singapore. Along with marketing, retailing and human resources, the course will cover right and wrong business strategies and financial operatives to prepare therapists for managerial roles in spas and to encourage them to further their career in the spa industry.
Interactive methods of teaching such as behind-the-scenes tours of leading spas and salons in Singapore will compliment lectures from spa experts and practical exercises.
Kim Burton-Clay, Education Manager of Spa Synergy’s education division, believes training is the key to creating a successful spa industry in the region.
“Education and on-going training is essential to maintaining a profitable business in the ever-changing spa and salon industry in Asia Pacific.”
