Fitness instructor Elaine Roles has been named as the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) 2007 Exceptional Achievement Award Winner.

Presented with her trophy at the Register’s National Conference at London’s Excel on 26 February, Elaine said she was delighted to have been nominated.

She said: “I love my job and to be rewarded for something that is so enjoyable to me is fantastic.”

Elaine has been a Fitness Instructor for nearly 20 years and for the past six years has also been BACR Phase IV qualified.

She teaches five cardiac classes per week for Dartford, Gravesham and Swanely Primary Care Trust and Bexley Care Trust as well as running a cardiac programme at Horizones Health & Fitness Club in Wilmington, in Kent.

In addition, Elaine is working towards extending the DGS PCT’s Phase IV provision within the PCT region and is involved with the Phase III Rehab Team at two local hospitals helping clients make the transition to Phase IV.

She also manages to fit in teaching four body pump classes per week, jointly runs a smoking cessation group in Swanley and teaches a series of exercise in retirement classes, general aerobics and a body conditioning class.

Registrar Cliff Collins said: “Elaine’s dedication to the health and wellbeing of her clients and her determination to further her own area of expertise is an inspiration to us all.”
