Energy-saving scheme launched for UK sports clubs
The Sport and Recreation Alliance (SRA) has partnered with energy consultants Utility Aid to launch an initiative aiming to help UK sports clubs cut their energy bills.
Called Energy 4 Sport & Recreation, the scheme offers organisations free and impartial energy audits. The scheme is available to all UK-based sport and recreation providers - from large national governing body headquarters and regional offices to local club houses, dance venues and sports halls.
Tim Lamb, chief executive of SRA said: "With our sports club survey highlighting that one in four clubs in the UK are running at a loss, and with a further one in four working their hardest just to break even, we know that savings made on an expensive resource like energy will really count.
