Expansion for Premier Lodge
Premier Lodge has acquired three new sites as part of a nationwide expansion drive
The £10.6m investment, in sites at Reading, Heathrow and Hemel Hempstead is part of a major expansion programme.
Nick Read, Premier Lodge’s brand director, says that as budget hotels increasingly become the first choice for both business and leisure travellers, finding new sites to cope to with demand has become fiercely competitive: “Our flexible hotel design has allowed us to look at space outside that traditionally associated with budget hotels.”
The 143-room £3.5m Reading hotel will be developed in old retail space and new build above the Friars Wall shopping centre by Portfolio developments. Work will begin this September and the hotel will open in October 2004. Work is also due to start ton the 110-room £2.5m site at Hemel Hempstead. Due to open in spring 2005, the site is being developed by Crest Nicholson and is part of the riverside development.
All sites offer super king size six-foot beds, ensuite bathrooms with power showers, satellite television, bar, restaurant and business facilities. Room prices start from £50 per room per night. Details: Mark Reynolds +44 (0)1604 612975
