Expedia announces Kempinski Hotels deal
Online travel company Expedia has revealed that it has secured a new multi-year, worldwide partnership deal with luxury Europe-based operator Kempinski Hotels.
The agreement will see more than 60 Kempinski-run properties made available on Expedia's portfolio of more than 100 booking websites, as well as through affiliate network websites. In addition to its existing estate across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, Kempinski Hotels is planning to open in excess of 40 new properties by 2015.
Expedia vice president of global strategic accounts Melissa Maher said: "Our partnership with Kempinski Hotels truly enhances our luxury lodging offerings in exotic destinations like Dubai (UAE), Bangkok (Thailand) and Jakarta (Indonesia)." Kempinski Hotels senior vice president of sales and marketing Juerg Sigenthaler added: "Expedia's global footprint and audience of more than 50 million travellers every month make it our OTA of choice for growing our business on a global scale."
