FIA announces support for 'Women TRY Sport' campaign

The Fitness Industry Association (FIA) has offered its backing to the 'Women TRY Sport' (WTS) campaign, which is designed to promote and improve sporting opportunities for women.
The initiative aims to give focus, direction and exposure to the potential offered by women's sport as a powerful motivator for women. It has the backing of most NGBs and many SportsHeroines across a wide range of sports.
As part of a partnership between the FIA and Women's SportsNet, the campaign will benefit FIA members looking to host their own Women TRY Sport days to act as a community driver - creating opportunities for members to support women in sport over the summer.
FIA CEO David Stalker said: "We are very much looking forward to working with Women's SportsNet to support the Women TRY Sport campaign and help combat the rising levels of women leading sedentary lifestyles.
"This campaign targets women who currently do not get enough exercise by making it easy for them to find and try a new activity. The Try events will give women access to exciting activities and we hope that they will enjoy the experience so much that they will continue to be active."
According to the Women's Sport & Fitness Foundation, there are around 12 million women in the UK who want to try informal sport but do not know where or how. To download the WSFF report as a PDF file, click here.
