Cannock Chase District Council (CCDC) has confirmed that a new 150-station Technogym Wellness fitness suite is to open at its new-look Chase Leisure Centre in February 2012.

The new gym is among a number of facilities that will open as part of a multi-million pound refurbishment of the centre, which is due to be fully completed in July 2012.

Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust is supplying the new Technogym equipment as part of the recently-announced agreement that will see it run CCDC's leisure services from 1 February.

A new reception; a health and physical activity suite; and fitness changing rooms are also set to open in February as part of the scheme, which is being carried out by GF Tomlinson.

Meanwhile, a new dance studio; a six-lane, 25m competition swimming pool; a teaching pool viewing area; a sauna; and a new changing village will open at the centre in July.
