Equinox opens flagship Hollywood fitness club
US-based premium Fitness club operator Equinox has opened a new flagship property in Hollywood, California.
The 38,000sq ft club is located at 1550 North Vine Street, in the heart of Hollywood’s famous “movies district” and close to the Capitol Records Building and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The single-storey club features four fitness studios, a three-lane interior pool and a dedicated plunge pool.
A Main Studio – dedicated for group fitness – takes centre stage while the Cycling Studio offers graduated, stadium style seating and is equipped to host The Pursuit by Equinox – an immersive cycling experience which integrates real-time data from rides into a connected, game-like visual experience.
Elsewhere, the Yoga Studio features serene soft lighting and natural details, with wall mounted barres and there is also a private Pilates Studio, boasting reformers and other equipment and offering private sessions with Equinox pilates trainers.
Classes on offer at the Hollywood club include yoga, barre, cycling and a range of Equinox’s own classes – such as The Cut, The Pursuit by Equinox, Precision Running, Best Abs Ever. It will also be the first club to launch Equinox’s newest format, Pure Strength.
Other services include The Spa at Equinox – offering rejuvenation and pampering – the shop at Equinox, a Kids Club, Earth Bar café and a lounge for members to work and socialise.
Founded in 1991 as a single fitness club on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York, Equinox has grown to a chain of 83 clubs in three countries.
“Twenty-five years ago, Equinox took a bold stance in a new category, effectively creating the concept of luxury fitness and driving fresh conversations about what high performance living means,” said Harvey Spevak, CEO, Equinox. “We remain unmatched—and more in-demand than ever before—because of our unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries, both inside and outside our clubs.”
