Five more Holiday Inns for Stardon
Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has expanded its Holiday Inn portfolio by signing a franchise agreement for five new sites with Stardon, a joint venture of Starwood Capital Europe and Chardon Hotels.
Stardon will manage the properties under a 20-year franchise agreement.
Andrew Cosslett, IHG’s chief executive, said the five sites will undergo significant refurbishment.
“The Holiday Inn UK Portfolio now stands at 100 hotels and continues to outperform the market,” he said.
The five properties include a 121-room hotel at Norwich City Airport and a 131-room seafront hotel in Brighton.
The combined total of rooms at the five sites is 602.
Maurice Taylor, chief executive of Stardon, said: “Our commitment to Holiday Inn extends over 12 years and we have been involved in all areas of the brand as an hotel operator and franchisee.”
Stardon acquired the five hotels from Hilton in Mach 2005 as part of a package of 11 properties.
