Focusing on disability awareness in training

The Institute of Sport and Recreation Management (ISRM) has joined forces with the Grass Roots training organisation ina bid to revolutionise disability awareness training for those working in the delivery of sport and recreation services. A new 'measurable' distance learning programme has been produced entitled Serving Disabled Customers by a disability training company. Commissioned and support funded by the Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government, the programme offers employers a method of training staff about the needs of disabled people with key facts about the Disability Discrimination Act.
