Former MoD offices to become Liverpool hotel
A former Ministry of Defence (MoD) office building located in the centre of Liverpool, is set to be transformed into a new 154-bedroom Days Inn hotel.
Sanguine Hospitality Management Company (SHMC) will own and operate the new Days Inn Liverpool hotel, which is due to open in February 2011 and will occupy all five floors of the Moor House site. The Liverpool property will become the latest addition to Days Inn's current UK portfolio of 41 sites, with architects Falconer Chester Hall appointed to design the hotel.
SHMC managing director Nick Taplin said: "We wanted to ensure that Days Inn Liverpool would bring something genuinely distinct to the city's existing hotel offer and location was a key consideration. "James Street is ideal, both for its transport links and also its proximity to the city's major attractions, such as Albert Dock and Liverpool One, while business guests will find themselves in the heart of the commercial district."
SHMC already operates a number of sites across North West England and will also manage Hotel Indigo Liverpool, which is currently under construction.
