Formula 1 star joins McCulloch in Columbus Monaco venture
Formula One racing driver, David Coulthard, is a major investor in Ken McCulloch's new Columbus Monaco hotel, preparing to open this month. Since it's acquisition by Coulthard and the Malmaison hotel group entrepreneur, some £22m has been invested in refurbishing the property overlooking the famous harbour and the Princess Grace Rose Garden. The luxury hotel will reopen with 153-beds and 31 suites, conference facilities and La Brasserie, a 140-seater restaurant serving local regional cuisine. The hotel, the first in McCulloch's Columbus hotels venture, opens 20 April, and McCulloch plans to expand the brand in the UK and the US.
