France welcomes Little Prince theme park based on classic novella
France has become home to a new theme park offering in the shape of the Little Prince Park, based around Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's classic novella.
Situated close to France’s border with Germany, the park is based around two anchored hot air balloons, which give visitors a view of the park from 150m (492ft) in the air.
Other attractions at the site include a petting zoo, slides, a 3D cinema and exhibitions of interactive dialogues, which give children the chance to engage with computer-generated characters from the novella.
Also featured at the Little Prince Park is a biplane, designed for youngsters, which follows the voyage of the author of the book, who famously disappeared when flying solo in 1944.
The Little Prince IP is looking to expand across the country, with the author’s family licensing the park before its creation.
There are currently a number of Little Prince-themed offerings in the works, including a feature-length film production and an opera.
The park hopes to attract around 150,000 visitors each year.
