Freedom Leisure wins Olympos contract
Sussex-based sports trust Freedom Leisure has been awarded a five-year contract to manage the three Olympos leisure centres in Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and Haywards Heath on behalf of Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC).
In partnership with fellow trust Greenwich Leisure (GLL), Freedom Leisure will also take over the management of two MSDC entertainment venues, Clair Hall in Haywards Heath and Martlets Hall in Burgess Hill. This is not the first time Freedom Leisure and GLL have worked together, previously winning a joint bid to manage K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley. The partnership also resulted in Freedom Leisure taking on the management of Sandwich Sports & Leisure Centre in Kent last autumn.
"Mid Sussex District Council and GLL/Freedom Leisure are committed to providing high quality, affordable leisure facilities to meet the needs of local people," said Councillor Garry Wall, MSDC cabinet member for leisure and outdoors services. "Through this new partnership, we will continue to improve and enhance the services and facilities.
"Freedom Leisure has an excellent track record in managing public leisure centres to the highest standard, making positive changes and developing services. We are excited about the many benefits that this new partnership will bring to the development of our leisure centres."
