Creative Scotland and the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) have announced new funding to support a new strategy to help develop the Scottish capital's cultural enterprises.

At the centre of the scheme is the revival of Creative Edinburgh on 3 November, which will work to encourage businesses to work together and generate inward investment.

Creative Scotland will contribute £120,000 to complement funding that has been committed by the local authority and the European Union to support various programmes.

CEC economic development convener Tom Buchanan said: "We have long recognised the important contribution that the creative industries can, and do, make to the economy."
