Further details of GREAT campaign revealed
The government has announced further details of how it plans to capitalise on the potential of the 2012 Games and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee through the GREAT campaign.
A number of government and non-government agencies have been brought together as part of the campaign focussing on nine target countries and 17 key cities across the world.
Launch events for the GREAT campaign are planned for locations such as Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Delhi, India. Target countries also include China, Germany and Australia.
Meanwhile, the strategy will boast online, social media and magazine adverts among others in a bid to promote the UK as a place to visit, study, work and do business in.
Culture secretary Jeremy Hunt said: "2012 - with the Olympics and Queen's Diamond Jubilee - will be one of the most exciting and momentous year's in this country's magnificent history.
"The GREAT campaign is rousing and inspirational. It will take our message right around the world - Britain is the place to visit, study and invest in right now."
