GLL enters budget market
Charitable Social Enterprise GLL, which runs more than 100 leisure centres on behalf of local authorities across London and Southern England, has further diversified its portfolio by launching a new, standalone budget gym in South East London.
Gym Bexleyheath comprises 92 pieces of the latest Technogym cardiovascular and resistance equipment, a dedicated free weights and stretch area, plus modern changing facilities. In order to keep costs to a minimum the reception area is
self-service, however the gym is staffed with qualified fitness professionals at all times.
Monthly membership costs just £19.95 and unlike many adult gyms there is also a special off-peak membership for teens (aged 11yrs -15yrs), which costs just £12.50 per month.
GLL Operations Director Andy McCabe comments, "The aim of this new venture is to offer a "no frills" approach to fitness, but without compromising on standards.
"And unlike many other fitness facilities, we are delighted to welcome younger members during off peak periods."
"GLL is a new entrant to the budget gym market. However the concept behind Gym Bexleyheath sits well with our corporate commitment to making high quality fitness and leisure facilities more accessible, while we already offer a low cost, discount membership - gym LONDON - within many of the leisure centres we operate."
Outside it's core portfolio of public leisure centres managed on behalf of local authorities, GLL also runs spa LONDON, a chain of affordable day spas.
