GLL signs new Greenwich Council contract
Greenwich Leisure (GLL) has been awarded a new 15-year contract to operate local leisure facilities on behalf of Greenwich Council, which will come into effect from 1 January.
It is hoped the leisure management contract will secure "significant investment" in order to ensure a sporting legacy from the 2012 Games for the borough's residents.
The deal, which covers all council-owned leisure centres and five adventure play sites, is also expected to help Greenwich Council save £250,000 while ensuring enhanced provision.
Greenwich Council leader Chris Roberts said: "The contract will provide a continuation of leisure management provision which will be delivered, as already shown to a high standard.
"The council looks forward to working with GLL over the next 15 years in improving the management of the borough's leisure service even further."
