Indoor sports surfaces company, Gerflor, has been chosen as an official supplier to the Athens Olympics this year to provide the courts for the handball and table tennis competitions.

The company’s Taraflex Sport M specialist floor covering will be showcased at the event, with nine handball courts – totalling 10,000sq m in all and in three different colours (lagoon, tangerine and blue) – to be installed at the Elliniko, Faliro, Ionikos, Rentis, Pallini and Zirinis sites.

The 40 table tennis courts located at the Arsakeio and Galatsi venues will feature 4,500sq m of Taraflex Table Tennis surface. The covering is in a deep red colour, which was produced especially for the Olympics in order to provide a good contrast between the ball and the table for spectators watching on tv.

Additionally, Gerflor is providing training and warm-up surfaces for the Games and will also equip the handisport table tennis floor surfaces at the Athens Paralympic Games in September.
