Glenogle Swim Centre to reopen in July
Sports trust Edinburgh Leisure is to reopen Glenogle Swim Centre on 2 July following a £5.7m refurbishment.
While the unique Victorian style of the old building has been retained, the centre has been revamped to include improved changing areas, toilets and lockers; additional disabled changing facilities and access; new gym equipment and a new sauna, steamroom and relaxation area.
The work, which began in October 2008, was funded by the City of Edinburgh Council. The design and build team was made up of City of Edinburgh Council quantity surveyor Thomas Bethune, project manager Thomas & Adamson and builders CBC.
Edinburgh Leisure's chief executive, Keith Jackson, said: "I'm delighted to announce a re-opening date of 2nd July when the doors of the very popular Glenogle Swim Centre will open to the public once again.
"A tremendous amount of hard work has been carried out on the venue since it closed and we are looking forward to inviting customers, old and new, back to this excellent facility from July onwards."
