As part of a pre-Christmas membership drive, Impulse Leisure encouraged new members to donate toys for local children in Thurrock.

Through the Bring a Toy Appeal, new members could get £10 off their joining fee for each toy they donated.

Consequently, more than 350 cuddly toys, dolls, games and puzzles were handed over to Thurrock Social Services who wrapped them up for local foster children and children in care for Christmas.

Social worker Frances Hudson said: "Impulse Leisure has provided children in need in the Thurrock area with an array of lovely gifts and toys.

“The local Children Education and Families department would like to thank all involved and customers of Impulse Leisure for their generosity."
