HKTB supports new tourism initiative
Over the festive season, the Hong Kong Tourist Board (HKTB) and the Hong Kong SAR government initiated a new scheme to boost the effects of tourism in two specific districts on the island – Causeway Bay and Wanchai.
Focusing attention of visitors and residents on both areas, the HKTB operated a free circular shuttle service linking the popular Golden Bauhinia Square attraction with both districts.
In order to publicise the service, shuttle buses were identified with banners and special stops were also placed along the route.
The HKTB also deployed a number of people dressed as Santa Claus along the route’s bus stops while, in order to prolong the initiative’s longevity, more than 30,000 tickets for the upcoming Product Expo in Victoria Park were distributed among prospective visitors and local trade operators.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote Causeway Bay and Wanchai as two of Hong Kong’s leading areas for tourism and related industries in terms of dining, leisure and attractions. Details: www.hktb.com
