Hammam rituals from the Middle East, Africa and Asia inspire a new treatment by Terres D'Afrique
Terres d’Afrique has developed a new treatment which fuses the hammam traditions of cultures from the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Soon be available in the Middle East, the Fusion Hammam warmth and cleansing treatment starts with heat and steam to prepare the body and skin for the detoxifying process by opening the pores.
This is followed by a foot ritual using a mix of fragrant plants from South Africa and Namibia leading to a full body exfoliation using Terres d’Afrique cooling scrub with Aloe Ferox gel and sugar, scented with Moroccan cypress, Atlas cedar wood and peppermint to slough away dead cells. The peppermint and eucalyptus essential oil in the blend create a cooling sensation.
Bentonite Clay is combined with African Buchu and Aloe Ferox for a mud pack to remove heavy metals and toxins. This body mask contains organic coconut oil and Kalahari melon oil.
During this phase, a coconut hair and scalp treatment is performed including an Indian head massage.
The body and hair are then then washed using either traditional Turkish foam bath or regular spa amenities and peppermint and eucalyptus scented water is then poured over the body, in preparation for an intense (and optional) detoxing massage which uses Terres d’Afrique detoxing Aroma Oil. This comprises a blend of Marula and Kalahari Melon oil, rich in essential fatty acids combined with Madagascan pink, black and wild pepper.
