Sport England has relaunched Sportsmatch with a new facility enabling you to apply online.

Designed to support the development of grassroots sport in England they will continue to offer pound for pound funding, acting as an incentive to both sports organisations and businesses to support grass roots projects.

The award criteria have changed to enable more flexibility to applicants.

Sportsmatch funding is now also available for donations from trusts and private individuals as well as companies.

Sportsmatch will match between £1000 (£500 for schools) and £50,000 from one eligible source, as long as it meets their criteria.

If you are thinking about applying in 2008/2009 you will need to ensure that your project will be completed in its entirety by 31st March 2009.
