Holmes Place opens Privilege club in Bank

Holmes Place is set to open its fifth Privilege health club next month in Bank, Central London.

The club takes the chain’s portfolio to 47 sites.

Holmes Place is currently in the process of being acquired by rival operator Virgin Active in a deal announced last month which will value the combined group at £650m.

It is expected that all Holmes Place clubs will be rebranded as Virgin Active sites by the end of the second quarter of 2007.

The new Bank club offers a Technogym-equipped fitness suite; a Therapy Clinic; sauna, steamroom, spa and stainless steel infinity pool; a groups cycling studio and a club room.

Virgin Active plans a global expansion and says it already has 30 sites in the pipeline in continental Europe.
