Hotel Corporation’s revamp plans
Hotel Corporation, which owns Dawnay Shore Hotels (DSH), has revealed its plans for the Hanover hotel properties which it acquired earlier this year.
It intends to completely refurbish the Walton Hall hotel in Staffordshire and the Hinckley Island hotel in Leicestershire.
Walton Hall, which DSH acquired in August for £15.2m, will be transformed from a 132-room time share property to a 200-room, four-star hotel.
The £10m refurbishment will see the introduction of conference facilities as well as a luxury day spa.
Barclay Douglas, chair, said: “We continue to focus on the integration of the three properties we acquired earlier this year. “All the hotels in the chain are now operating under the Paramount brand.”
Reporting its first half figures, DSH announced a 54 per cent rise in pre-tax profits – from £5.9m to £9.3m – during the six months to 30 June.
