IMSPA recruits first 'corporate partner'
Oldham Community Leisure (OCL) has become the first "corporate partner" to sign up to the newly-formed Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (IMSPA).
The community benefit society currently operates 14 sports and leisure facilities on behalf of Oldham Council, including Failsworth, Royton and Oldham Sports Centres. In announcing that it was joining IMSPA, OCL said that it would demonstrate commitment to the new body by sponsoring individual membership for 14 management board members.
OCL chief executive Ian Kendall said: "We are always striving to improve the quality of customer service and to do that you need a professional, well-informed workforce. "It is absolutely vital that we embed the culture of qualification in the fitness industry, and by being an IMSPA corporate partner we can work together to improve the professionalism in the sector."
