Sochi 2014 organiser to deliver ISC 2016 keynote
The man behind Sochi’s bid and preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics will deliver a keynote address at this year’s International Sports Convention (ISC).
Dmitry Chernyshenko was at the forefront of the successful bid between 2005 and 2007, and laid out the blueprint for the Games as president of the official Organising Committee thereafter.
Chernyshenko – who is also president of the Kontinental Hockey League – will give his speech during the International Ice Hockey Conference, which is part of the bigger convention. ISC is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland between 7 and 8 December 2016.
His experience of delivering elite events has also seen him drafted into the Steering Committee of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games which is being held in Beijing.
Away from sport, Chernyshenko is the chief executive of Gazprom-Media Holding, which has interests in broadcast and subscription television, radio, and sports content production.
