JJB Fitness Clubs has announced that its aggressive rollout programme, which has seen it open six clubs already this year, has resulted in it becoming the UK’s sixth largest operator – up from 18th two years ago.
Openings this year include Telford, Bury, Bolton, Gloucester, Blackburn and Selby, bringing the total number of clubs to 37.
Also scheduled to open by the end of 2006 are clubs in Thanet, Llanelli and Belfast, with a further 12 locations planned for 2007.
Total membership at JJB now exceeds 154,000 and revenue has increased by 40.7 per cent year on year.
