Jersey attraction homes plans resubmitted
Revised plans for a new housing development at St Peter, Jersey, which would result in the closure of the Living Legend tourist attraction, have been submitted to the island's government.
Initial proposals for the demolition of the attraction, which incorporates a karting complex and two adventure golf courses, and the construction of 65 new homes were first mooted last summer due to a fall in tourism prompting a need to find an alternative use for the 5.5-acre (2.2-hectare) site. However, the States of Jersey government announced on 20 August that plans would not be processed until the park's owners, the Lewis family, completed a transport assessment and provided further information.
Fresh proposals have now been submitted for consideration, which will see the construction of 55 houses and 10 apartments, as well as associated landscaped "amenity areas" and car parking. Buckinghamshire-based RMA acted as lead consultant and architect on the development of the £8.5m Living Legend attraction, which was completed in 1992. The two adventure golf courses were added in 1997, while a revamp of the Living Legend Auditorium Show was completed in 2000.
