US-based crowd-sourcing website Kickstarter will make its services available to UK entrepreneurs on 31 October.
The launch of Kickstarter UK - announced first in a tweet earlier this year - will allow small business and entrepreneurs to launch their creative ventures and projects using funding acquired through the public investing in them.
Launched in 2009 by Perry Chen, Yancey Strickler, and Charles Adler, Kickstarter has so far funded a range of ventures - such as feature films, stage shows and video games.
By August 2012, Kickstarter had amassed nearly US$400m (£250m, 310m euro) in pledges for projects.
