LOCOG confirms new Paralympic sponsor
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has confirmed Sainsbury's as the Games' first Paralympic-only sponsor.
The supermarket chain - named as a Tier One Partner - will promote the Paralympic Games across its 850 UK outlets, in addition to running a media campaign in 2012. Sainsbury's is also one of two sponsors that will be permitted to appear on athletes' bibs - albeit in a limited capacity, as well as in and around Paralympic venues.
LOCOG chair Sebastian Coe said: "The support for the Paralympic Games in the UK is incredible and I'm thrilled that we are now in a position to confirm our first stand-alone Paralympics sponsor. "Sainsbury's will become a valued partner of the Paralympic Movement and will help us to promote the Games to the sport loving public of the UK."
