Leeds United confirms Ken Bates' ownership
Ken Bates has been unveiled as the new owner of Leeds United Football Club (LUFC) after completing the purchase of FSF for an undisclosed sum.
The npower Championship club said that it hoped the acquisition by Outro - fully owned by Bates - would end media speculation into its ownership structure. A LUFC spokesperson said: "This change in ownership structure makes Ken Bates the controlling shareholder of Leeds United and delivers the transparency sought."
Meanwhile, Wrexham Football Club has been cleared to participate in the Blue Square Bet Premier play-offs after clearing a £200,000 HM Revenue and Customs debt. A club spokesperson said the payment "had been confirmed to the Football Conference in accordance with its request prior to the start of the play-offs".
