Leisure Connection joins the fight to get young people fit
Leisure Connection has launched a new campaign to get young people more enthusiastic about health and fitness.
The group, which is the largest operator of local authority leisure centres in the UK, has joined forces with the Connexions Card.
Connexions is an initiative that encourages 16 to 19-year olds to stay in learning by rewarding them with points for attendance. Points can be exchanged for goods and services - and now for free swimming and Harpers gym induction vouchers at more than 70 Leisure Connection sites. Cardholders also get junior prices on a variety of sporting activities.
'Despite obvious health benefits, it's not easy to encourage most young people to exercise regularly,' says Dawn Jackson from Leisure Connection. 'Supporting the Connexions Card will enable us to promote our services directly through a nationally run initiative.' Details: +44 (0)1582 794023
