Liverpool to be sold again?
Dubai International Capital (DIC) is rumoured to be preparing a £500m offer to buy Liverpool Football Club.
According to the Liverpool Daily Post, the Dubai-based investment company will shortly make a bid for the club, currently owned by American duo George Gillett Jr and Tom Hicks.
It would be the second time DIC have attempted to take over the Merseyside club.
Gillett and Hicks agreed a £470m deal for the Reds in January 2007 after original negotiations between Liverpool and DIC collapsed.
The news comes just days after Gillett vehemently denied that the club was for sale.
Liverpool is in the process of building a new stadium at the city’s Stanley Park.
The £300m, 60,000-seat stadium – designed by US architects HKS – received the green light from Liverpool City Council planners in November.
