The £20m East Gate mixed-use development in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire has been scheduled to open in September 2012.

The work on the project, which is being undertaken by Henry Davidson Developments, will transform five acres of Llanelli town centre into a leisure quarter comprising of a six-screen digital cinema to be operated by Reel Cinemas; a 53-bedroom Travelodge hotel; and six restaurant units.

A new 550-seat regional theatre will also be built on the site of the former Stepney Hotel.

There will also be a total of 20,000sq ft of office space, a new bus interchange servicing an estimated 1 million users a year), and retail units and cafés.
