Local authority to unveil County Durham-wide development proposals
A county-wide strategy shaping local development over the next 20 years - including leisure and tourism - is to be unveiled by Durham County Council (DCC) next week.
Members of the cabinet are being asked to agree a consultation on the County Durham Plan on 24 July, along with a regeneration statement and infrastructure delivery plan.
It is anticipated plans for a new executive housing development contained within the strategy will open up access to parkland at Lambton Castle estate - seen as a major local attraction.
DCC cabinet member for regeneration and economic development Neil Foster said: "The County Durham Plan is the council's most important regeneration document."
