Loughborough swimming squad sponsorship deal
Wealth management company St James's Place has announced that it is to sponsor Loughborough University Swimming.
The elite development programme at Loughborough boasts some of the UK’s leading swimmers, and is one of the top national swimming teams. The investment from St James's Place will be used for the coaching and development of squad members. Operating on a trial basis for the first year, it is intended that the sponsorship could be extended for a longer period.
Ian Gascoigne, group sales director at St James's Place, said: “The Loughborough swimming programme fits ideally with our desire to play a part in helping to support the Olympic effort.
“We are delighted that our involvement will help the development of the UK’s finest swimmers and are looking forward to working with Loughborough in the build up to London 2012.”
Loughborough vice chancellor, Professor Shirley Pearce said: "Our swimmers enjoyed tremendous success in 2006. The support of St James's Place will help them to build on their achievements in this absolutely crucial period in the run up to the London Olympics."
