MLA launches seminars to aid greater EU funding
The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) is to sponsor a series of seminars intended to help the sector secure a greater share of new European Union (EU) funding for cultural organisations.
The new round of EU sector funding is called Culture 2007 and is worth 408m euro (£277m, US$523m).
The MLA will be working with the EU’s UK Cultural Contact Point, EUCLID, to organise four seminars around the UK to help museums, libraries and other cultural representatives learn more about EU funding opportunities and maximise their chances of successfully applying for funding.
MLA international policy advisor, Sue Hughes, said: “We want the sector to fully exploit the opportunities available to them through this funding round. The seminars will feature a speaker from EUCLID, who will provide information specifically targeted to museums, libraries and archives.
“Participants will hear about new funding opportunities, including new rural opportunities, as well as key requirements for EU programmes and general tips on how to develop a proposal. I would strongly urge the sector to make the most of this great opportunity.” Details: www.mla.gov.uk
