Mayor's public spaces advisor steps down
Richard Rogers has announced that he is to step down as deputy chair of the mayor of London's design advisory panel and great spaces panel on 14 October.
Rogers, who has also advised former London mayor Ken Livingston, was appointed to the Sir Simon Milton-chaired design advisory panel in November 2008 by current mayor Boris Johnson. Johnson also selected Rogers to help with the Great Spaces initiative, which launched in March 2009 to improve London's outdoor spaces.
Johnson said: "I want to thank Richard for the huge contribution he has made to the establishment of both these panels, which are crucial to my aim of improving the quality of life for Londoners. "For many years now Richard has played an important role in making London a better place to live, work and visit and I know he will continue to contribute his invaluable experience to that debate."
