MediaMation, which supplies and manufactures 4D/5D motion EFX theatres and seats, is to provide a turnkey 4D theatre for Merlin Entertainments' new Legoland Discovery Centre in Yonkers, New York, US.
Set to open in Spring 2013, the US$12m (£7.7m) Legoland Discovery Centre will be at Westchester's Ridge Hill Mall in the city and the 98-seat Lego® 4D Cinema will feature custom seats and include wind, rain, lightning and snow effects. MediaMation's turnkey project - on which it will again be working with German design firm Entertainment Resources - will include installation and integration of the lighting and 16-channel sound system as well as 3D digital projection, show control and integration.
The company has already installed 4D theatre technology in all four of the US Legoland Discovery Centres, those in Chicago, Dallas/Ft Worth, Atlanta and Kansas City. In a further development, Lego Discovery Centres will be launching a brand new 4D film across all locations by the Spring of 2013.
