Minister unveils £7.2m Belfast arts centre
Northern Ireland arts minister Nelson McCausland has officially unveiled the new-look Crescent Arts Centre in Belfast, following a £7.2m refurbishment.
Located on University Road, the newly-revamped facility boasts a 900sq m (9,688sq ft) extension and a cafe area, while existing rooms have been reconfigured as part of the scheme. The refurbishment has also included work to restore the Grade II-listed venue's exterior facade and the installation of a lift and other improvements to comply with disability legislation.
Plans for the renovation of Crescent Arts Centre were boosted by a £4.5m contribution from Northern Ireland's Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL).
